Reflection - 54

There is no gift on earth like Holy Communion, because in this sacrament of love we receive Jesus Christ’s Body, Blood and Divinity-into our hearts. Holy Communion is the spiritual life of our soul; it is its very food. This is why we ought to receive it often. And for those seeking sanctity, Holy Communion is the most powerful means to attain it, for what can be more sanctifying?

 Indeed let us frequently receive Jesus’ love feast to get His very special graces. Let’s unite ourselves daily to the Divine Guest of our souls whom we hope to enjoy forever in paradise after this life is over.

v When we miss one Holy Communion, we miss a personal visit with Jesus, author of all spiritual energy and of all holiness.

v We lose a special increase of sanctifying grace, which makes our soul more pleasing to God.

v We lose sacramental graces, which entities us to special help in times of temptation and in the discharge of our duties.

v  We lose a precious opportunity of having all our venal sins wiped away.

v We lose the spiritual joy, the sweetness and particular comfort that come from a fervent Holy Communion.

v At the hour of our death our greatest consolation will be the holy communions that we have received in our life.

Reflection - 53

“I am the bread of the life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever comes in me will never be thirsty.” (John 6:35)

Once up on a time a king , who immolated his beloved son. In order to prove his love towards his loving people. Thus the beloved son sacrificed his life for his father’s loving children.

This story not a tale, but a real incident. In this story the particular king is our father in heaven. And the beloved son is our lord Jesus Christ. God the father sent his son Jesus to the earth, to wipe away the sins of his loving people. Since Jesus gave his life to the world. So He is a wounded savior of the world.

Why Jesus call himself  the bread of life? Jesus understood that God promised them manna from heaven to sustain them on their journey to the promised land. Bread is  the very essential for  life. We cannot live without food for very long. Bread sustains us. 1 John chapter 4, verses 19, says that; “We love because He first loved us”. Jesus loves us. In daily mass, He gives his body the symbolic form of bread. Why does Jesus give his body as a bread for us? As we are selected people, we have to become like that bread to be broken for others. How it can be possible in our life? First we want to check the relationship with loving God. Nobody can’t become a broken bread without the personal relationship with the loving God. We should build up a good relationship with God, through personal prayer, reciting rosary, helping one another, helps to grow other, doing virtues and sacrifice etc…

If we want to become another broken bread, we have to go through the process like the granites of wheat becoming the form of bread. St. Paul’s letter to Romans, chapter 5, verses 8, we see that; “But God commended his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”. So we should think about our sacrifice for Jesus. He carried out our own sins and he suffered our own pains and sorrows. What am I sacrificing for our Lord Jesus, in my life?  What can I give as sacrificing to God?

In this meditation, let’s meditate upon, how is my relationship with God, especially my prayer and spiritual activities. Also thing it, how can I give my life as total sacrifice? If we follow these  things , we could become an another broken bread. Let’s meditate upon it. Wish you a fruitful meditation.

Reflection - 52

“What does it profit them if they gain the whole world but loose or forfeit them self” (Luke 9:5)

So dear friend we all are busy doing different thinks in our daily life and we are achieving many things. Certain thinks that we do or that we achieve, may not be helping us to fulfill God’s will. We need to understand whether we are on the right path in our daily life. Hence one of the ways to understand is our daily examination of conscience

As it name indicate the examination of conscience is an investigation of once conscience. In order to discover the good or evil acts one has performed, and especially to verify one’s basic attitude regarding god and personal sanctification

v There are five steps which helps us to improve our daily examination of conscience.

1.   First of all we have to give thanks to god, for all the gifts that we have received from god.

2.   Secondly we ask for the grace to know our sins and for the strength to cost them out.

3.   Third one we have to make a detailed examination. We have to examine all our though, words and deeds and see whether they according to god’s will.

4.   Next step is to ask pardon from the lord. When we come to realized that we have gone against the will of god. We should feel sorry for the same and should ask pardon.

5.   The fifth step is to make a resolution to amend our life. Once we come to know our faults and short coming we have to feel sorry for the same and we should resolve to correct ours ways, here we should take necessary decision to put in to practice in our daily life.

“What does it profit them if they gain the whole world, but loose or forfeit them” (Luke 9:5) In the light of this word let’s examine now whether we are always fulfilling god’s will. In order to understand it, let’s go throw these five steps of examination of conscience.

Dear fathers and my dear friends 1 Pet 5.7 says “cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you “so let’s   give up all our anxiety to god Jesus .let’s try to do our mediation in a good manner

                   As we celebrate the fest of st. John Mary viyani tomorrow we can try to see to his life how he became a good priest the only rezone was he overcame temptation   . so my dear brothers as sir.2.1 says “my son if you have come to serve the lord prepare yourself for temptation st. Philipneri says “temptation  reveled is temptation    overcome “ there is one saying that “devil select only good people to be tempted”  few ways to how to overcome temptations.

1)   Put away the wavering thought if it find difficult consult with the spiritual father 

2)   Hold fast to the lord with the undivided love through fervent prayer

3)   One should always behave as if one has come face to face  with the death 

4)   Constantly meditate

5)   Avid unnecessary speech , visits and friendship which hinder our vocation

6)   Read the holy bible everyday

7)   Meditate up on the glory of priestly vocation

8)   Seek the interception of blessed mother and st Joseph and your paternal saint    

9)   Try to grow in holiness and wisdom                                                                              

  St Paul says in his letter to 1 Cor.12.9 “my grace is sufficient for you for power is made perfect in weakness” again in sir.15.5 “if you choose you can keep the commanded and to act faithfully is a matter of yore choices” we read in st Mathew‘s gospel “stay awake and pray that you may not come in to the time of temptation “so let’s stay awake and try to be awake and reflect up on these thoughts.

Reflection - 50

We all have heard about the parable of the talents in Bible. Let s reflect upon this and meditate. Jesus gave these parables so that we may lead a good life.  

It is a simple story that our Lord tells here. A man who is preparing to leave on a journey entrusts his possessions to his servants. He distributes his wealth among three servants, apportioned to them on the basis of their abilities. To the first he entrusted five talents, to the second two talents, and to the third one talent. The first two servants’ quickly set to work with their master’s money. The third servant did not invest his master’s money at all; he dug a hole in the ground and buried his master’s money. When the master returned, the first two eagerly met their master, apparently delighted in the opportunity to multiply their master’s money. Both were commended as “good and faithful servants”; both were rewarded with increased responsibilities in their master’s service; both were invited to share in their master’s joy.

The master’s dealing with the third servant is a very different matter. This servant came to his master with only the talent his master had originally entrusted to him. He did not increase his master’s money at all. He told his master that he was a harsh and cruel man, a man who was demanding, and who expected gain where he had not labored. He contended that this is why he was afraid to take a risk with any kind of investment. And so he simply hid the money, and now he returned it, without any gain. The master rebuked this slave for being evil and lazy and sent him to the jail.

Dear friends from this parable Jesus make us to reflect about the talents and abilities He has given us. Now lets reflect and see all the talents and abilities god has given us and lets meditate that whether am I making use my god gift in proper ways or am I lazy to enrich and nourish my talents .If we are not doing so it is a great sin. And we become like the third servant who was punished by his master. As Jesus said Those who have more will be given and those who have nothing even what they have will be taken away. So let’s not be lazy to enrich our talents but be motivated to make grow it and become dear to Jesus so that He will provide us with more and grant us so many blessings and graces. It is a very important area to think of because so many times we are not aware about these and if we are aware and to god to make me your child so that he will help us to enrich our talents. So let’s meditate and see and let’s make  changes.

Reflection - 49

As we are at the threshold of this new day, let us offer our body, heart and mind to our lord Jesus Christ. It is wonderful to recount the stories of countless and choiceless blessing that we have been receving the last  21, 22 or more years. Do anybody think why we have such blessing? We have got good parents , better education and good family atmosphere. Among thousands, God selected us for his work and calls us to be with him. Do we have some pecularities?  No, nothing, we have nothing other than sins and debts. Why there is God again shower his blessings and grace to us? There is only one answer- LAMENTATION 3:22-24, “ The steadfast love of God never ceases. His mercies never comes to an end, they are new at every morning.”

Dear friends Jesus welcomes you all to feel his new and fresh love in this fresh morning and let us go back to your past experience. Sometimes I am inspired by him as his brother, sometimes I am nurtured by him as his son, else I am loved by him as his friend and Isiah express this beautifully in verses that often speaks deeply to the people. “I have called you by name. you are mine, you are precious and honoured and ‘I love you.”’ For the God we feel close to is not a powerful God, such a God is one we tremble before in fear. Neither a creator nor a wise, but we do find ourselves getting close to a God who has made himself weak and vulnerable.

  I am sure that you are leading a life of hypocrite’s. For being an epitomize of Christ or for loving Christ you have to sacrifice something that you owned. Because the speciality of  God’s love is self-sacrificing, self-giving, self-effacing.

Dear friends in this meditation we should take an oath that each one of us will discover the fences and the limitations which restricted me from my God and scrap those discovered unwanted things. We are called to centre our lives of God in responsible services and fulfilment of our duties. We are to be dedicated and commited to our task here on earth as if we are selected by him.

Remember the famous words of ancient  philosopher  Pythagoras: We are the chattel of our God. We should have a strong conviction that we are the belongings of the Almighty. So reflect and think Is my relationship with God in a state of harmony?  Am my faithful to my God?
