Reflection - 67

We all are called to become future priests, so please do not try to act as a priest at the last movement of the ordination, which is an impossible thing. When God called us he made all of us his own. If we are not trying to become a good priest in our seminary life, we cannot be a good priest after our ordination. We all are called to be holy like every saint. In the world there are many saints, each of them could change the world and they helped many souls to reach heaven. If we will try to become a holy priest for the Catholic Church, we can also help many souls to reach heaven. For that we should have the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus has a told us that the Holy Spirit will teach you everything. If we will ask to God for Holy Spirit he will fill us with Holy Spirit. We should thrust for Holy Spirit like Elisha. That we can see in the Old Testament. And his calling is very important which says in the (1Kings 19:19-21).

In this Bible passage we can see the calling of Elisha. Alisha became the servant of Elijah. After many years Elijah asked to Elisha that what do you want from me.  Elisha replayed only one thing that was the double share of your spirit what you have.

Elisha asked only the God’s spirit. He did not ask any other things because he experienced the power of God’s spirit through Elijah. So he had no need money or any possession, except the spirit of God.

Let us ask God to fill us with the power of the Holy Spirit. Without Holy Spirit we cannot become a good priest. Therefore let us thirst for Holy Spirit like Elisha.

Reflection - 66

we have come here leaving our dear and near ones. But, let’s take a moment to realize that why have we come over here?

To be with the lord almighty, our lord jesus. We all and have experienced the greatness and love we feel when we are near to him. We never feel worried about anything because we know he will look after us all our problems. But what we all do to be close to him.

We have willingly decided to be his followers but are we ready to take up sacrifices for him? To take-up some step near to him. Since it is he who had given his life for our sins.

But now a day we need only Jesus at the time of difficulties but we are called to be his disciples to be with him forever.

So, let’s ones again renew our call and take up our cross and be the followers of god

Reflection - 65

Holy Gospel of St.Mark 3:13-16 says how and what is the purpose of Priestly Call according to Jesus.”It is to be with Him, to send them out to preach and to have the authority to drive out demons”. In one sentence we can say a Priest is to be with the Lord and to be with his people. Vocation or Divine Call is a gift that one who received from the Divine Master. The Priestly call means being chosen to follow Christ the Good Shepherd and prolong his pastoral service to be identified with him Body and Soul.
In 1peter2:9 says, “God has called you out of darkness into his own marvelous light”, that means we the chosen people are called to be light of the world. In Gala1:15 says, “God, whom from our mothers womb had set me apart and called me through his grace”. That means, God has made us for a unique purpose. Even when we were born, He knew our Vocation, our Mission in life: if we are faithful Catholic man God may be calling you for a higher purpose that is to become a good Catholic priest. To become a good priest we should bury all our sins in the seminary life itself. Let us try to remove all our sins by doing active participation in all our activities such as Holy Qurbana, Liturgy of Hours, Rosary, Spiritual reading, Spiritual Directions, Obedience to our earthly authorities and gaining knowledge .By practicing this we can become a man of prayer, to be a good preacher and a good witness to the world in the name of Lord Jesus our Divine Master.

So my dear friends in Christ Jesus, Human person feels fulfilled only when he is faithful to his vocation, as a chosen one our vocation is to be with Him. “Every human being as well as every Christian has been chosen by Christ from all eternity” (eph1:4).So let us try to lead a good seminary life to become a Holy Catholic Priest because this generation wants a Priest to be a man of prayer and  another Christ. This is the only thing Jesus our Divine Master excepting from us as the scripture says “to be with Him and with his people”. Lets us ponder on it and be a witness in the name of our Saviour.

Reflection - 64

We are going to meditate on the gospel passage of Mt. 6:25-34. This passage gives us a detailed description on the values, essential for a Christian disciple. There is nothing deeply to be thought of, because every thing is self explanatory. But let me view it from a perspective of worry which is our great concern for each one of us. This worry is not the one that we face on the day before which we attempt for an assignment. The above mentioned is a because of our own laziness. But the one which Jesus mentioned is our unwanted sort of concern for our family and friends, which we have deliberately avoided for Jesus. Here we are dealing with the worry as the basic problem.

What are we really worried of, if not then what distracts us from being attentive to prayer. It is what we call it as unwanted thoughts. Does this thoughts help in our formation? But the basic thing that supports us is the great providence of God. He cared me from my mothers’ womb, my young days, and my each and every activity. Even he doesn’t sleep for us according to psalms, for guiding us. And thus we don’t have anything to give him back when he asks even we lacks a thankful heart. Also he acknowledges us that we are much greater than the grass. We all enjoy the nature and all its products but we don’t wonder on the body that he provided for us. No one can work the digestion system, respiratory and soon. It is clearly the providence of God. Thus we care more for our needs rather the needs of our creator.

In other way the non trusting in God /our worry on others, is a clear symbol of unfaithfulness. If faith is lost then a great lose has taken place. The authentic Christian discipleship is laid up on the faith of God. The providence of God should be recalled each day and should be thankful for the same. Hence let us meditate on our short comings and let us have mind with deep conviction of Lord’s providence, which is his care when we withdraw ourselves from the external worldly thighs that cares us.

Reflection - 63

As we all are in the formation period, we excepted to show a progress in our daily life. Any person who wants to make a progress  in our daily life. Any person who wants to make a progress in any field may need some kind of kindness.

The guides in different fields and in varies types of organizations and communities are known by different Names, guide, leader, guru, aacharya, director, father etc. I am going to speak about “how spiritual direction is important in our formation period.

In a church, from its very early period the leaders were given instructions in one way or another. But this was no so formalized as in the modern times. However, spiritual giddiness was a important in church. But as we know, we are seminarians, we should have the awareness of spiritual direction in our life, But many we don’t give importance of spiritual conference. We have many reasons for avoiding spiritual direction , lack of time, lack of interest etc. but one thing that in our daily life we are faced with more problems, some times we fail to make a good decision. But a spiritual director can help in that particular situation. But first we need a open mind and enthusiasm.

What is spiritual direction?
Spiritual direction is the guidance given by a person who has the experience of the ways of God, to a person who is interested in attaining perfection by understanding and fulfilling the plan of God.
The spiritual director tries to guide the person in his or her journey to Christian perfection, so let us try to grow holiness and wisdom, as Jesus grew in holy family, let us meditate the importance of our spiritual direction, and to make a meaning full one.
