Reflection - 65
Holy Gospel
of St.Mark 3:13-16 says how and what is the purpose of Priestly Call according
to Jesus.”It is to be with Him, to send them out to preach and to have the authority
to drive out demons”. In one sentence we can say a Priest is to be with the Lord
and to be with his people. Vocation or Divine Call is a gift that one who received
from the Divine Master. The Priestly call means being chosen to follow Christ the
Good Shepherd and prolong his pastoral service to be identified with him Body
and Soul.
In 1peter2:9 says, “God has called you out of darkness into his own marvelous
light”, that means we the chosen people are called to be light of the world. In
Gala1:15 says, “God, whom from our mothers womb had set me apart and called me
through his grace”. That means, God has made us for a unique purpose. Even when
we were born, He knew our Vocation, our Mission in life: if we are faithful Catholic
man God may be calling you for a higher purpose that is to become a good Catholic
priest. To become a good priest we should bury all our sins in the seminary life
itself. Let us try to remove all our sins by doing active participation in all
our activities such as Holy Qurbana, Liturgy of Hours, Rosary, Spiritual reading,
Spiritual Directions, Obedience to our earthly authorities and gaining
knowledge .By practicing this we can become a man of prayer, to be a good
preacher and a good witness to the world in the name of Lord Jesus our Divine
Master.
So my
dear friends in Christ Jesus, Human person feels fulfilled only when he is
faithful to his vocation, as a chosen one our vocation is to be with Him. “Every
human being as well as every Christian has been chosen by Christ from all eternity”
(eph1:4).So let us try to lead a good seminary life to become a Holy Catholic Priest
because this generation wants a Priest to be a man of prayer and another Christ. This is the only thing Jesus
our Divine Master excepting from us as the scripture says “to be with Him and
with his people”. Lets us ponder on it and be a witness in the name of our Saviour.
