Reflection - 37

We are the chosen people of Christ. In the Old Testament we can see that Moses was called by God. He asked Moses to go away from his native place and family and stay in another land which God showed him. He blindly obeyed God and got away from his native land. Later we see God chose the people of Israel as His own people. He gave them special rules to follow, He protected them specially, and He blessed them abundantly by staying or dwelling with them. In the New Testament we can see that Jesus chose some people who were some illiterate and uneducated to proclaim His words to the ends of the earth. With them the early Christian communities got started. The number of the believers started to increase rapidly. So the apostles ordained some people as their followers. These followers were Spirit filled and Jesus stayed in their hearts. So as a continuation today in order to lead His people Jesus has chosen us. There were thousands of others who are well studying and well qualified, but God selected us from those thousands as leaders for His chosen people. So we should be a house holy enough to make a dwelling place for God. God is the perfect. There are different levels of perfection. As specially called we should be more holy than other people or the other people expect this from us. As we step up each day to priesthood we should step up the level of perfection too. Apostles, St. Stephen etc… are models for us. As we step up finally we should become altar christus. So is this present condition enough to be a dwelling place for God? Is this is what expected form us as chosen from god? Are our thoughts, sees, hearings, words, actions, deeds, and behavior good enough to become altar christus. Or does it enough? If we observe our day to day life we can understand where we are. 

Our God is the one who kept miracles even in the fringes of his clothes. He was a blessing for the people. Whoever asked him favors and blessings were given it. He was so much concerned about others. He finally gave His own life for others. If this Lord lives in us we should behave like Him. We should be a blessing for others and we should be concerned about others. Just reflect are we a blessing or a scandal? Are we concerned about others? Or are we self centered? I wish you a fruitful meditation.
