SHORT CUT GOD

“The world is pretty wonderful place, and it is more wonderful because you are in it”. 

In the book of genesis we can see that god created the world and all in it including human. Then he whispered in himself that it is good. Yes it is good what god has created. He has a plane for everything that he created, for the plants for the animals and for all human beings. Human is the crown of his creation so that he has put into his heart a thirst to attain him that shows his love towards us.

Strange as it may seen there is a short cut to heaven and to god with which we are not well acquainted. It is the road of love of neighbor. And our neighbor includes everyone of our fellowmen, not just a chosen few. We must love others because god commands it in the gospel. And the second commandment is similar to this, “love your neighbor as yourself”, because all are his creation as like our self /me.

Man is the image of God: our neighbor is a reflection of god’s love for us. If we love him we love god. For as St. Augustine reminds us, “How can we say we love god whom we do not see, when we do not love our neighbor whom we see?”

But love of neighbor must not be such that, it hinders our love of the creator, rather it ought to increase strengthen it. We should pray for others, help and encourage them.

And because our neighbor includes everybody, we must not forget our enemies, love your enemies do good to them, that heat you, says Christ. He not only said it but did it. We are convinced of this but do we live our convictions?

Let us make love of neighbor our daily practice for then we shall be making god our ruler of life. Remember, love of neighbor is the test for love god. We can’t have one without the other
