Reflection - 48

Each community has its own rules and regulations. Like that our community also has some rules and regulations. Why these rules and regulations are given to us? These rules and regulations are given not to make us distress, but to teach us what is wrong and what is proper for us to do. We all are here with the desire to become a good priest. The rules are given to help us to gain that goal. They are the laws of the Lord. We can do whatever we like when there are no rules. Whatever it is, it will not consider as wrong when there are no rules.

St. Paul says in the letter to Romans chapter 5 verses 13: “sin was indeed in the world before the law, but sin is not reckoned when there is no law.” That means, we realize what is good and what is wrong, only through the laws or rules.

The laws are the things which make a man a real human being. Sometimes we do some activities whatever we like without considering the time and situation. When we do like this there is no difference between animals and human beings. So we should realize that the rules and laws are given for the good of us. Mathew chapter 9 verses 19 says; “Whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of Heaven. But whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of Heaven.

So let us think ourselves, do I really obey and follow the rules and laws which are given to me? Do I tempt others to violate the rules or I teach them to obey them. Let us think ourselves and pray to God to give the courage obey the rules and regulations
