Reflection 8

Mathew 10: 37- 42
“He who loves father and m other more than me is not worthy of me”. (Mt 10:37)

Do you love Jesus more than all what you love and have?

Dear friends,
Jesus never asks us to hate or cast out our biological parents. Instead they must be loved and respected with gentleness and gratefulness. With this same gratefulness can we approach God? If not, What hinders or hurdles  us to give up everything to God and to love  him more and more than all the pleasures given buy this world. It can be our over attachment and affection to the worldly pleasures, or it can be the mundane love offered by our own peer groups, or sometimes our own personal inclinations and likes towards our own beneficent. Lets us have a deep look into ourselves and ask with a genuine heart, filled with purified thoughts and meditations.

For a while, just analog the person of Father as the concept of powered possession and wealth and Mother as love and care. These two similes’ can be gathered from the world of today in its different ways. Do I or can I love the person of Jesus than anything else of this world?

“He who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me”.(Mt 10:38)
Let us ask ourselves whether we have the real presence of crosses in our day to day lives. Sometimes we will be running away from the crosses, thinking that we are free from all the sufferings and tensions of life. We may feel crosses are always heavy. We may forget the heaviness of cross if we walk along with Jesus our master carrying the daily crosses. We must believe that there will be an angel that helps us to carry the heavy burdens for a better tomorrow. The “Simon of Cyrene experience” should follow all of us. There when Jesus was carrying the heavy log Simon was sent by God as an angel to be with Jesus as his helper.  Believe and try not to leave our crosses by the way and walk along with Jesus. The result will be a damn failure. We must transfer and transform all our worries and problems as means to purification and salvation of ourselves. Then the real meaning of cross comes to full fill in our lives, Cross as the symbol of salvation…
Amen.
