Reflection17

                                              St Mark 10: 17-3

You know the God of your father and serve him with single mind and willing heart. For lord searches every mind and understands every plan and thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you: but if you forsake him, he will abandon you forever (1 chronicle 28:9)

Today I would like to focus something from the gospel,( St. Mark 10:17-31). It tells about the story of Rich man verse 22 says that he (rich man) went away grieving because he had many possessions. If we reflect upon the word possession, just think about the possession that we should have as a candidate to priesthood. What should be our possession?  Dear brothers our possession must be Jesus Christ then only we can serve him with single mind and willing heart. Now let us think about the different ways that help us to achieve Jesus as our wealth. Firstly by receiving the holy Eucharist, by our canonical prayer, through fasting, by daily meditation by, reciting holy rosary every day ,by caring and loving one another etc. By all these method we can make Jesus as our one and only possession

If we are giving more importance to anything or anybody rather than Jesus Christ or if we are seeking material comfortness  rather than the pain of Jesus Christ, dear brothers then please notice that we are keeping Jesus away from our life. So try to put Jesus as our center of our life, the possession of our life. Then only Jesus may work within us as his own child.

Secondly, just think about the life of the rich man his possessions might be little number of camels or some other animals, some acres of land or a beautiful house etc. but he was not ready to forsake it for Jesus So that he became one of the tragedy characters in history. But at the same time if we go through the life of disciples they were ready to gave up all they had even their families, occupation, wealth for the sake of the kingdom of God. Everything they left for Jesus. Now what is their possession in the church? One side they received eternal life on other side they became the owners of different schools, colleges, hospitals and other institutions in
The church some diocese take them as their patron saint if we are saying some example St John’s hospital or St Thomas church here in

Dear brothers no one knows the name of rich man even gospel also calls him only as a rich man not his name. These all things are asking a question to us. Are we ready to forsake all your wealth that you have for the kingdom of God? Jesus tells through the gospel of Saint Luke that if you done like that a good measure pressed together, shakes together, running over will be put in to your lap .let us meditate upon these and lead a life according to His will
